They say you cannot truly understand something until you experience it firsthand.
However, one doesn’t need to be a street vendor to grasp the challenging and precarious situation they endure in this relentless heat.
From the bustling Havana 4-way intersection to the makeshift tuckshops constructed from second-hand materials on your street, and the vendors positioned near major malls to attract foot traffic, they all grapple with the searing heat.
Many of these vendors have erected makeshift shacks to shield their products, but the heat remains unbearable, especially for those selling perishable goods like fruits and vegetables.
As a result, their stock doesn’t last, and some struggle to maintain their posts because of the scorching conditions and the lack of proper shades for their products.
When the oppressive heat subsides, rain often follows, resulting in a loss of sales.
