The initial phase of the proposed Ondangwa Stadium, which encompasses a sports field, running track, and pavilion, is projected to be finalised over a period of approximately five years.

Ismael Namgongo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ondangwa Town Council, revealed in a recent interview with Eagle FM that while the council has yet to secure a sponsor, provisions have been made in the annual budget to allocate approximately N$12 million over the course of the next five years.

Namgongo outlined that completed tasks within phase one include earthworks and the implementation of a drainage system.

“At present, ongoing developments involve the establishment of site security measures, including the construction of a boundary wall, gate, and fencing. Subsequently, we will seek expertise in grass planting by March, following the completion of fencing, to proceed with the installation of grass and an irrigation system,” Namgongo explained.
