As Namibia commemorates 34 years of independence, scrutiny turns to the nation’s progress across various fronts, including its workforce.

Labour expert Herbert Jauch contends that over the past thirty years, the Namibian economy has failed to evolve sufficiently to accommodate the burgeoning youth population in need of employment opportunities.

Despite facing a high rate of youth unemployment, Jauch argues that the economy has made minimal adjustments to absorb the thousands of graduates seeking livelihoods.
