Siemens Energy, a leading German energy company, has expressed strong interest in exploring opportunities to establish electrolyser assembly facilities in Namibia.

This development was revealed by James Mnyupe, the Green Hydrogen Commissioner, in a press statement issued on Sunday.

The interest from Siemens was sparked following a visit by Namibia’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Tom Alweendo.

Electrolysers, crucial devices that use electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, play a vital role in generating low-emission hydrogen from renewable or nuclear electricity sources.
