Health Deputy Minister Ester Muinjangue has lauded the exemplary performance of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) throughout the years, highlighting its significant achievements.
During the handover ceremony of cold chain equipment on Thursday, Muinjangue noted that by 2020, the EPI had integrated 13 antigens, including three for Covid-19, and attained a measles immunisation coverage rate exceeding 95% in 2023.
The equipment was handed over by the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
