President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has emphasized that Namibia’s fishing sector is a vital national asset that requires sustainable and effective management to ensure long-term benefits for all citizens. Speaking at a major industry engagement in Walvis Bay, the President highlighted the sector’s critical role in the economy, noting its 4.1% contribution to the GDP, the support of over 21,000 direct jobs, and the generation of N$14.3 billion in annual export earnings.
