The Rundu Sports Stadium in the Kavango East was packed to the brim on Saturday with fans of both Julinho Sporting FC and Eshoke Chula Chula turning up to support their clubs in the Debmarine premiership.
The match ended in a 1 – 0 defeat of Eeshoke Chula Chula, ending the newcomers unbeaten run in the premiership.
At fultime, Julinho Sporting Football Club coach Nelson Luis could not contain his joy at the attendance saying the scenes at Saturday’s match have not been witnessed in the Kavango East region before.
“Namibia doesn’t have a population that can fill up a whole big stadium when it comes to soccer but things are getting better,” he said.
Luis emphasised the potential sports have as a driver of development and economic progress in the Kavango East region.
