Cricket Namibia has revealed ambitious plans for a national cricket stadium, set to be constructed in anticipation of the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which Namibia will co-host with South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Cricket Namibia’s board chairman, Rudie van Vuuren, emphasised the significance of this endeavour, describing it as a pivotal moment for the sport both regionally and within Namibia.

“What you see here today is the physical manifestation of a vision collectively developed from 2018,” Van Vuuren said, adding that the stadium’s construction will feature infrastructure benchmarked against regional standards in preparation for the upcoming tournament.
