A second NBC employee has tested positive for Covid-19.
NB spokesperson Umbi Karuaihe-Upi confirmed to EagleFM that one of their employees in the Windhoek newsroom has tested positive for COVID-19.‬
‪The case is one of those announced this morning.‬
‪Karuaihe-Upi said that they will be taking some of their employees from the regions and other departments, to ensure that broadcasting continues. ‬‪This is because the news team will need to be quarantined and tested. ‬
‪She added that the offices have been fumigated and contact tracing is underway.‬
‪NBC will issue a statement soon. ‬
In early July, Karuaihe-Upi also confirmed that the corporation’s employee based at Swakopmund had tested positive.
At the time, Karuaihe-Upi said the entire Swakopmund staff was in self-isolation and would be tested soon.
“Just like all Covid-19 cases in Namibia, the relevant information has been forwarded to the ministry of health and social services,” she said then.
