Prison officers have arrested two men who were trying to smuggle drugs into the Windhoek Correctional Facility in the past two weeks.

One of the men has already appeared in court and was remanded in custody while the second one is expected to appear in court on Monday.

The acting Khomas regional police commander deputy commissioner Abner Agas confirmed the arrest of the two men to Eagle FM.

One of the men had drugs hidden in two oranges while the other one drugs hidden in lotion containers.

Deputy commissioner Agas said the prison officers were using different search methods that are yielding results.
