Eenhana Mayor, Omri-onn Kavandje, asserts that the migration of youth from rural to urban areas can be stemmed by improving access to education institutions closer to home.

Kavandje provided insights into the efforts of the Eenhana Town Council to counteract the trend of young people leaving the economically vibrant Ohangwena Region for larger cities like Windhoek and Walvis Bay.

To retain youth in the region, plans are underway to transform Eenhana into a hub of higher education, building upon the existing IUM campus currently under construction.

The town also boasts a vocational training center, specialising in solar-related training, which is unique in the country.
