The Institute of Public Policy Research’s director, Graham Hopwood has stressed the importance of transparency with regards to activities in Namibia’s extractive industry to generate more awareness about industry.

Speaking during a webinar hosting representatives of the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) for English and Lusso-speaking countries, Hopwood highlighted recent developments such as the change in ownership of the Tsumeb smelters complex to a Chinese company and the imminent commencement of operations at a new gold mine this year.
