The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) has announced that updated employment statistics will be available before the end of the year, following the conclusion of fieldwork for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

Namibia has been relying on outdated and estimated data for approximately six years since the release of the Namibia Labour Force Survey 2018 Report, which indicated an unemployment rate of 33.4%.

This marked a slight decrease from the 34.0% recorded in the previous Namibia Labour Force Survey Report of 2016.

Accurate employment statistics play a crucial role in guiding government policies, planning, and discussions related to labour issues.
