CHINA has made a commitment to provide food aid to Namibia, with a value of 12 million Chinese Yuan, equivalent to N$31 million.
The announcement was made by Tang Wenhong, Vice Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, during a meeting with President Hage Geingob at State House on Friday.
Wenhong stated that this food aid initiative aligns with a measure set forth by Chinese President Xi Jinping during the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue in August.
He expressed his delight and said, “I’m very pleased to inform you that, in line with the food aid measures announced by President Xi Jinping during the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue, we have decided to provide 10 million Chinese Yuan worth of food aid to Namibia.”
