The First-ever Namibia’s Presidential Candidates Debate

Event info

Date: 12th Nov 2019

Eagle FM was the first-ever radio station to hold a successful presidential candidate debate that was attended by more than 500 people at the National Theatre of Namibia on 12 November 2019. Although the Swapo candidate president Hage Geingob did not attend because, as his office said, of other pressing issues and the independent candidate Dr Panduleni Itula also did not attend, other candidates made it.

Those who made it are the Landless People Movement leader Bernadus Swartbooi, the Swanu leader Dr Tanegni Iyambo, the RDP leader Mike Kavekotora, Nudo leader Ester Muijangue and PDM leader McHenry Venaani.

The debate was streamed live to more than 1,8 million people and broadcast live across the country.

Giga Nictus, the premier furniture shop, partnered Eagle FM on the debate.
