The hopes of a bountiful harvest for many crop farmers this year were dashed when strong winds accompanied by hailstones and rain ravaged fields and gardens in some parts of the north.

Ohumba Farming, located in Ohangwena region, known for producing a variety of fresh produce and fruits, was among the farms severely affected.

Shivute Leader Shikonda, the farm’s owner, confirmed the extent of the damage in an interview with Eagle FM, estimating it to be valued at around N$70,000.
