Namibian economic woes are fundamentally rooted in the economic and regulatory policies that we implement. Because they are either copied somewhere or drafted without empirical support or assessment on the affected communities and businesses.
Because of that they are inadequate or vague in addressing the plight faced by domestic entrepreneurs and investors. They are now barriers to entrepreneurs and to accessing productive resources.
Why? Because when we draft our policies we fail to acknowledge at the level our country is economically and industry-wise.
Until we acknowledge that we are an infant economy, with a large pool of inexperienced graduates, infant companies, no funding of research, no easy access to resources; we will keep drafting policies that disadvantage our own domestic investors and young entrepreneurs.
