Africa’s digital transformation is expanding rapidly with more than 1.1 billion mobile subscribers recorded in 2025

Running parallel to this fast expansion is the use of AI in cybercrimes with more than 50% of cybercrimes recorded in Africa employing AI according to a 2026 Interpol report.
