The World Bank’s latest Gini Index data shows that Namibia remains the second most unequal country in the world, despite achieving significant institutional milestones, including 86% adult financial inclusion, removal from the FATF grey list, a stronger financial regulatory framework, and a free and independent press.
Persistent unemployment, poverty, and inequality highlight the need to shift the focus from meeting international standards to implementing policies that create jobs, reduce inequality, and accelerate human development.
