THE TWILIGHT WITH MATHIAS (28 MAY 2026)
Broken Vases
A potter made beautiful vases, but some broke during the process. Instead of throwing them away, he painted them and sent them to the market.
In many ways, this reflects how some businesses operate today.
Imagine going to refill a gas cylinder at a cheaper price, only to discover that the cylinder is half full, and the cheaper price was simply a catch.
Imagine a supermarket advertising items on special, only for customers to later realize the products are expired.
Imagine seasonal employees being paid with expired goods instead of fair compensation.
These are some of the realities taking place in our society, yet very little is being done about them. Many people remain silent while others continue to profit through dishonest practices.
Are these criminal offences, or do they fall under municipal by-laws and consumer protection regulations?
Does this ring a bell? Does this sound familiar?
