FAMILY DIVISON

Modern day families are not as close as in the past, from aunties to cousins and even siblings are not left out, so lets look at the cause or reason why family bonds are no longer as tight and close as before.

Family bonds haven’t disappeared, but in many places they’ve loosened compared to earlier generations. It’s not usually one single cause—more like several shifts happening at once:

Family bonds are often perceived as less tight and close than in the past due to a complex interplay of societal shifts, technological advancements, and changing individual priorities. Key factors contributing to this trend include rapid urbanization, which scatters families geographically, and the prevalence of digital technology, which often replaces face-to-face interaction with virtual connections. The rise of individualism, where personal happiness and career goals are prioritized over familial duties, also plays a significant role.
