2. Namibia’s mining sector injected more than N$24 billion into the local economy in 2024, with N$24.154 billion spent on goods and services from Namibian businesses. This accounts for 46.2% of the industry’s total revenue of N$52.295 billion, Sppoke with Filleppuss George Amukwaya secretary general of the Mineworkers Union of Namibia, on local companies benefitting more from the mining industry.

As Namibia joins the world in commemorating International Labour Day, the spotlight turns to the rights of workers, the enforcement of labour laws, and the continuing role of trade unions in safeguarding decent work conditions. 4. Cola – cola share campaign was rolled out at the Kosmos Fees festival this weekend, adding a personal touch to the celebration.
