1. Green hydrogen commissioner and presidential advisor for economic affairs James Mnyupe says Namibia has the potential to possess three green hydrogen hubs. Mnyupe said this during the first day of the green hydrogen conference at Windhoek country club. The conference, which is taking place under the theme towards a green hydrogen hub in Africa, is set to conclude on Wednesday.
2. Ohangwena regional Councilor submitted in the national council session that the community cannot get involved in couples private affairs. She was contributing to the domestic violence amendment bill on Monday.
She says cultural beliefs within the wambo tradition leaves people to turn a blind eye to domestic violence that they witness.
3. Minister of industrialization and trade Lucia Iipumbu says the MIT and the environment, forestry, and tourism ministry (MEFT) have agreed on co- financing to fast-track the rehabilitation of the water supply points.
4. TransNamib spokesperson Abigail Raubenheimer says that the company is currently not in a financial position to afford an increment.
5. Two of the six suspects who allegedly robbed a Chinese national of his N$1.1 million last week in Rocky Crest in Windhoek have been identified as Frans Andreas(32), well known as ‘Paid’ and Haimbodi Salom Shehama (30), both from the Havana informal settlement in Windhoek. This was revealed by the Khomas region police spokesperson warrant officer Silas Shipandeni earlier today.
6. The Chamber of mines of Namibia’s economist Lauren Davidson says the Namibian artisans should expect employment at the Langer Heinrich Uranium mine which is set to start in March 2024.
