1. The mines and energy ministry says a request by fuel retailers on retail margins comes at a bad timing. The ministry has also asked the retailers to not go on strike. This comes as a dispute on retail profit encroachment had service station owners threatening to bring the domestic economy to its knees.

2. The finance ministry has come out to criticize Bloomberg ranking Namibia as a high default risk country.

3. Health minister Kalumbi Shangula says a bill which to improve the medical and dental act will be introduced in the next session of parliament.
The National Assembly will resume in September after taking a break this month.His comments follow after concerns were raised about private medical practices in the country. The bill is called the health professionals bill, which he says will become an act.

4. Although Namibia has completely scrapped all other Covid-19 restrictions, the tourism industry remains affected with travel restrictions. However, the industry has welcomed the steps taken by government, with some stating that its a step into opening up.

5.Landless People’s Movement’s youth command element hosts a press conference on youth matters. The youth element condemned hostel learners sent back home for not paying hostel fees.
