A second NBC employee has tested positive for Covid-19.NB spokesperson Umbi Karuaihe-Upi confirmed to EagleFM that one of their employees in the Windhoek newsroom has tested positive for COVID-19.
The case is one of those announced this morning.
Karuaihe-Upi said that they will be taking some of their employees from the regions and other departments, to ensure that broadcasting continues. This is because the news team will need to be quarantined and tested.
She added that the offices have been fumigated and contact tracing is underway.
NBC will issue a statement soon.
In early July, Karuaihe-Upi also confirmed that the corporation’s employee based at Swakopmund had tested positive.
At the time, Karuaihe-Upi said the entire Swakopmund staff was in self-isolation and would be tested soon.
“Just like all Covid-19 cases in Namibia, the relevant information has been forwarded to the ministry of health and social services,” she said then.
