Yesterday, Namibia marked the first commemoration of the Nama/Herero Genocide, reflecting on one of the darkest chapters in Namibian history from 1904 to 1908. We spoke with Brian Ngutjinazo, a historian, law scholar, student activist, and a descendant of the Herero ethnic group.

addition to our discussion on the Nama/Herero Genocide, we interviewed Ezra Nghinamaanhu, a history teacher at Odimbo Combined School, who provided insight into the historical context of genocide and suggested steps to preserve our collective history and heritage.
