ON THE RADAR WITH JUSTICIA (03 MARCH 2023)
1. Mines and energy minister Tom Alweendo says currently both mining and petroleum sectors are dominated by foreigners – saying that it is because operating in the two sectors is technological and capital-intensive.
2. The Namibia Media Professionals Union (NAMPU) has called on authorities to ensure that measures are put in place to protect journalists in and around the courtrooms.
This follows after a group of journalists in the coast of Namibia were attacked by a suspect who appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on fraud and theft charges.
3. Fisheries ministers Derek Klazen says the amount of fish consumed by seals is unacceptable.
4. The Office of the Prime Minister today received a donation of fish from the fisheries ministry. The donated fish is for flood-affected communities in the Omusati, Oshana and Ohangwena regions through the Office of the Prime Minister.
5. The registrar of the engineering council of Namibia, Charles Mukwaso has expressed that career guidance is poor in Namibia.
