1. Namibia joined fellow diamond producing nations in Luanda, Angola, yesterday for the High Level Ministerial Roundtable on Natural Diamonds, a gathering aimed at forging stronger collaboration, advancing sustainable practices, and defining a shared future for the global diamond industry.

2. The European Union, in partnership with UNICEF, has stepped in with a combined humanitarian aid package of N$24 million, with the aim of strengthening the country’s emergency relief efforts. The includes N$19 million contributed by the EU through its Humanitarian Aid Operations Agency, while UNICEF added N$5 million from its own resources.

3. the Bank of Namibia announced its third Monetary Policy decision for the year – holding steady, keeping the repo rate unchanged at 6.75%, this decision follows four consecutive cuts earlier in the year that brough the rate down to this level.

4. The country has launched its own AI policy and formed working groups, but questions remain about whether implementation is keeping pace with regional peers.
