The energy targets under NDP6:

Namibia aims to increase installed electricity generation capacity from the current 734 MW to 1,153 MW by 2030. This will be achieved through a sustainable mix of locally generated energy.

Namibia used the Geospatial LeastCost Electrification Plan (GLCEP) in 2022, supported by the World Bank, to inform its national electrification policy. The GLCEP analysis estimated that achieving universal access by 2030 would require connections for approximately 432,000 households—of which 80% would be served via grid expansion and 20% via offgrid solutions.
