American farmers have called on their government to stop importing Namibian beef due to the ongoing foot-and-mouth outbreak in the country. A spokesperson from Meatco said that for the past five years, the company had no sourced meat from the Northern Communal Areas.- However, on the extent of the foot-and-mouth outbreak in the north of the country. The Namibia Northern Farmers Union, Jason Emvula, speaks about the economic effects that the outbreak has. Emvula explains that a wider impact can be felt when animals are prohibited from moving, nor being transported.
