Namibia’s best young athletes converged at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek to compete in the 2025 Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU) Athletics National Championship from 2 to 3 May.

 

The two days were filled with competition and energy, with each region being represented by their best young athletes.

 

Rather unsurprisingly, the Khomas region put on a dominant display, racking up a total of 1302 points, 3.5 times the amount of points of second placed Hardap. The gap in points between Khomas and the rest of the regions could be a reflection of the gap in resources between Khomas and the rest of the country. The hundreds of millions allocated towards country wide sports infrastructure development could potentially see a reduction in the gap in points.
