Rundu is facing a mounting water crisis as rapid population growth places increasing pressure on outdated infrastructure and limited water supply systems in Rundu, Kavango East Region.
Rundu Town Council Chief Executive Officer, Olavi Nathanael, revealed that the town currently receives only 857 cubic meters of water, well below the 1,400 cubic meters required to meet daily demand.
He revealed that last week during a visit by the National Commission on Research, Science, and Technology (NCRST).
Nathanael said the 543 cubic meters shortfall means more and more residents are going without access to reliable water services.
