Political leaders and lawmakers have expressed their support for removing the Veterinary Cordon Fence also known as the red line, currently being challenged by Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda in the High Court.
Swapo Central Committee member Hofni Ipinge acknowledged that while the red line has historically disadvantaged many people economically, the issue should not be politicised.
He noted that discussions about its removal have taken place in previous land conferences in Namibia.
“We believe in systems, processes, and institutions. This is not a political issue but a legal one. The red line must go, but proper procedures must be followed. We are all affected,” he stated.
