Opuwo’s education circuit has announced the implementation of a strict move for the 2025 academic year, prohibiting the movement, registration, and enrolment of already placed learners between schools.
This decision, announced by the Inspector for education, Naftali Uusiku, is aimed at facilitating proper placement for new intakes and streamlining the registration process.
The move comes at a time when parents in the Kunene region are grappling with delays in the placement of their children at various schools.
The 2025 academic year officially began on January 15, but many parents expressed frustration despite submitting applications on time.
Uusiku reassured parents that every child would ultimately be placed, noting that over 90% of applications have already been successfully processed.
