IN a significant development, Namibia’s construction industry is set to witness an increase in the minimum wage, with a new rate of N$18.72 coming into effect.
This change stems from an agreement reached between the Construction Industries Federation (CIF) and the Metal and Allied Namibian Workers Union (MANWU) to improve the earnings of workers in the construction sector.
The revised minimum wage will become effective upon the official publication of the signed collective agreement between CIF and MANWU in the Government Gazette.
