MINISTER of Fisheries and Marine Resources Derek Klazen has confirmed that incidences of illegal and unregulated fishing activities are still active in Namibia waters with the latest recorded in April this year.

Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities are considered one of the greatest threats to marine ecosystems due to their potent ability to undermine national and regional efforts to conserve and manage fish stocks.
