Observations from the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) have revealed that Namibia has been importing products, mostly raw commodities, and exporting them immediately with no transformation.
This is shown in the country’s monthly trade statistics that include re-exported products, values, and their destinations.
Re-exports are commodities imported by residents who assume short-term ownership of the commodities before ultimately exporting them.
For June 2025, Namibia has imported various minerals (articles, ores, and concentrates) and petroleum oils that it re-exported to different parts of the world – valued at N$3.3 billion.
