Somepeople who have been registered to receive drought relief food in Okaku Constituency were left in tears this week after the food at the constituency finished without being allocated anything.
Okaku is one of the constituencies that have been severely hit by the seasonal floods in Oshana region, and in August this year, it had about 318 people who were reportedly surviving on food support from the government.
For the current drought relief program, food in Okaku was supposed to be distributed to beneficiaries from October.
But due to unspecified challenges, registered beneficiaries only received food last week.
Taimi Iitope, the person charged with the distribution of drought relief at Okaku told The Villager that although they received food to distribute, it was not enough to cater for all registered beneficiaries.
