The manager of the Shadikongoro Green Scheme irrigation project, Mutero Joseph, has raised concerns over a persistent lack of essential agricultural tools and equipment.

Saying the shortage is significantly hindering production at the scheme which is located in the Mukwe Constituency of the Kavango East Region.

Joseph made these remarks on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Ruth Masake.

According to Joseph, both small-scale farmers and workers at the scheme face daily challenges due to the unavailability of basic tools such as combine harvesters, tractors, irrigation systems, ploughs, and repair equipment.

He added that the few tools available are old, worn out, and have not been replaced since the scheme was established.
