The Central Procurement Board of Namibia (CPBN) has raised concerns over the alarming rate of disqualifications among bidders.
According to the board, more than 50% of local businesses fail to make it to the financial stage of the procurement process due to avoidable mistakes.
This was highlighted by Chairperson of the CPBN, Mary Shiimi, during the launch of the board’s first-ever public and bidders education campaign this week.
Shiimi expressed her dissatisfaction with the number of bidders eliminated early on, emphasising the need for a more comprehensive understanding of the bidding requirements.
“The board is concerned that more than 50% of bidders don’t make it to the financial stage due to minor mistakes that could have been avoided,” Shiimi said.
