The City of Windhoek (CoW) has yet to determine the total costs incurred in relocating residents affected by recent floods, with expenses covering water provision, transportation, and sanitation infrastructure.

City spokesperson Lydia Amutenya told Eagle FM that while an exact figure is not yet available, costs have been absorbed internally, with support from various stakeholders.

“These include providing water tanks and extending portable water lines,” she said.

Amutenya added that tents for displaced residents were donated by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), while transportation was facilitated by the City of Windhoek, the Khomas Regional Council, and the OPM.
