The Kavango People Forum is organizing a mass demonstration in opposition to the proposed Kavango Water Link Pipeline, a project designed to transfer water from the Kavango River to Namibia’s central region. The forum argues that the initiative has raised significant concerns among residents and stakeholders regarding its potential environmental, social, and economic impacts. Supporters of the demonstration are calling for greater public consultation, transparency, and careful consideration of the long-term implications of the project before any final decisions are made.

On today’s edition of Concerned Citizens, we will be joined by Paulus Mahupe, spokesperson for the Kavango People Forum, to discuss the reasons behind the planned demonstration, the forum’s concerns about the proposed pipeline, and what they are asking of government and other decision-makers. He will also share the forum’s perspective on protecting the Kavango River and the interests of communities that depend on it.
