Political and public policy analysts are recommending Namibian diplomats that represent the country in economic diplomacy negotiations to use the platform to solve domestic issues by attracting relevant investments.

This call comes as China is showcasing its dominant global economic relations position by hosting another Forum of China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

The Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, is currently in Beijing, China to attend the Forum, which started yesterday and will run until 12 June 2025.
Musavyi is expected to present Namibia’s foreign policy interests and its current priorities with global economic players.

According to political analyst, Purity Katukula, the expansion of Namibia-China ties must concentrate more on measurable results that can address Namibia’s current challenges, such as
unemployment and food insecurity.
