The Namibian top flight rugby and football seasons are nearing completion. Rounds 26 and 27 of the Debmarine Namibia Premiership and the final round of league play in the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) took place over the weekend.
On the football side, African Stars continued their title defense by collecting another six points after beating Ongos and Tigers 2-0 respectively. The popular Awilo Stephanus scored a goal in both games, with young midfield ace, Mbakondja Tjahikika scoring a goal of the season contender in the Ongos game. Jomo Tjiveta scored the second goal in the game against ‘Ingwe.’
Starlile’s fine form means they are now four points clear of Young African at the top of the table, with just three games left to play. If results go their way, African Stars could secure the title next weekend.
