1. In a significant move aimed at strengthening agricultural trade between Namibia and China, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform of the Republic of Namibia and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China yesterday signed a protocol on Inspection, Quarantine and Hygiene Requirements for Mutton and Chevon to be exported from Namibia to China. 2. Transport and Works Minister, Veikko Nekundi, has cancelled the N$2.5 billion locomotive tender meant for TransNamib after it emerged that the deal was awarded through direct procurement to a single manufacturer.
Nekundi announced this in the National Assembly, stating that such procurement exposes Namibia to geopolitical risks. Engaged social activist Simon Amunime.

3. Chief Brands Communication Marketing and Sustainability Officer Tim Ekandjo, during the launch of the 2025 MTC Netball Premier League season announced that MTC and Netball Namibia will work towards a 3 year professionalization plan with intention to implement a minimum wage across the board to serve as a basic allowance or salary for every participating netball player starting next season.
