1. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed the arrest of a private individual in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged corrupt practices involving a staff member of the Roads Authority (RA) and a private supplier. 2. A group of concerned nursing graduates has submitted a petition to the Parliament of Namibia, addressing critical issues related to the Health Professions Councils of Namibia (HPCNA). The petition raises concerns around registration processes, internship placements, and professional recognition. Sackaria Lazarus representative.
3. The Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced that the fuel prices for May will remain unchanged.
The ministry noted that there were over-recoveries of 13.36 cents per litre for petrol, 17.39 cents per litre for 50ppm diesel and over-recoveries of 25.83 cents per litre for 10ppm diesel.
4. The Government of Namibia is set to borrow a total of N$29.8 billion during the 2025/26 financial year to meet its budgetary obligations. This is according to the finalized Annual Borrowing Plan, released by the Bank of Namibia on behalf of the government.
Of the total amount, N$21.2 billion is expected to be sourced from the domestic financial market. Peter Frans Economist
