1. This morning, the Bank of Namibia officially launched the Hage Geingob commemorative banknote in honor of the late former president, Dr. Hage Geingob. !Gawaxab also announced that Namibia will be introducing an entirely new currency series in June 2025.
2. Meanwhile, President Nangolo Mbumba officially unveiled the new N$60 Dr. Hage Geingob commemorative banknote, highlighting its significance in light of recent events.
3. The national power utility, NamPower, is seeking a 17.44% bulk tariff increase for 2025/26. This will move the bulk tariff from 198.56 cents/kWh to 233.18 cents/kWh if the Electricity Control Board (ECB) approves it. According to Nampower, the increase aims to cover energy costs, Nampower’s fixed operating costs and the depreciation of assets. Justicia Shipena and Dwight Links breakdown report.
4. Despite the decline in paper mail, Nampost Chief Executive Officer Festus Hangula believes the future of postal services remains promising, driven by the rapid growth of the parcel business. Speaking at the 12th Southern Africa Postal Operators Association (SAPOA) Postal Forum in Windhoek.

6. China has withdrawn its offer to extend visa exemptions to ordinary Namibian citizens following public criticism of a similar agreement granted to diplomats.
