ON THE RADAR WITH HAPPY (20 FEBRUARY 2025)
1. 20th February marks World Social Justice Day, an occasion that calls on each of us to pause and reflect on the true meaning of social justice. It is a reminder for us to examine whether we, as individuals, truly uphold the principles of justice, equality, and fairness in our daily lives—especially in the way we treat our neighbors, families, and communities.
2. An implementation plan for Namibia’s Electric Vehicles (EV) charging infrastructure Regulatory Framework is set to commence in April 2025, this is according to the Electricity Control Board’s (ECB) CEO Robert Kahimise. Conrad Roedern expressed concerns regarding the potential overreach of the Electricity Control Board (ECB) in regulating EV charging infrastructure.
3. Justicia Shipena engaged a scientist Jasper Kassoma on the implementation plan on Namibia’s Electric Vehicles (EV) charging infrastructure Regulatory Framework.
4. The Namibia Statistics Agency has released the Namibia producer price index report of the fourth quarter of 2024, in which it indicated that, the fourth quarter noticed an increase in the overall PPI quarter on quarter.
5. The public service commission, also honoured the memory of the late founding president Sam Nujoma in a candlelight ceremony led by the chairperson of the commission, Salmman Jacobs.
6. Utoni Nujoma the oldest son of the late Sam Nujoma, shared memories he had with his father during exile. Utoni described his father as a man of principles and unity.
