Namibia’s fishing industry has employed around 16 000 to date. Yet, looking at the country’s massive marine/fishery riches, and Benguel Current, one would have expected the industry to absorb at least 40% of the labour force of the country.

With all the vessels, factories and fishing quotas, the sector still is yet to deliver on employment.
