Namibia Hydrogen Fund Managers (Pty) Limited (Nam-H2), a subsidiary of the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGHP), has successfully secured just under N$19 million (equivalent to approximately US$1 million) in funding.
Green Hydrogen Commissioner James Mnyupe revealed this during an update on the green hydrogen programme on Thursday.
Mnyupe specified that the funding, obtained through the USAID Southern Africa Mobilising Investment project, represents the largest grant awarded outside of South Africa.
This funding will bolster the SDG Namibia One Fund, managed in collaboration with Climate Fund Managers and the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF).
Furthermore, Mnyupe announced the initiation of a comprehensive Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism.
